I met Stephen in July of 2010. When I first met him, I wrote him off as some punk kid not worth my time. The next time we met he dropped me on my head (real prince charming stuff). After that little painful incident we talked until 4:00 am. I like to say our relationship started with a bang.
After that, we were inseparable. We saw each other every single day. He kissed me on our first date (it wasn't the first day we met, calm down!) and I fell madly, deeply, head over heels in love with him. We were even brave enough to drive out and see my parents in Missouri within the first month of dating.

In September, he proposed to me in a parking lot. Yes, a parking lot. And it couldn't have been more romantic. No, we had never been there before. And, oddly, we haven't been there since. But, his proposal was the perfect representation of how our relationship works: crazy, unpredictable, romantic, fun that only brings us closer together.

Stephen is in the army now and we have to spend a lot of time apart. While it isn't easy, I could not be more proud of him. He is going after his dreams, serving his country and being the best soldier the world has ever seen. These months apart may be hard, but they only bring us closer together.
